Whilst we cannot take beginners, we have a number of members who just play for fun as well as league players and those who represent Sussex at various levels. So if you played in days gone by and are looking to start again or just moved into the area then we could be for you.
Do you play badminton with plastic shuttles and want to step up to feathers? Perhaps you played regularly at school or university and are looking to play again now you’ve graduated.

Visitors
You can come for a free trial session to see if the club is right for you and thereafter up to five more times for a £7 per session visitors fee before deciding to join. (Why the limit? Badminton England provides insurance cover for up to six visits before a player must affiliate to Badminton England in order to continue playing)
To attend club night as a visitor we just need a few contact details, any forest committee member can provide the visitor form and take payment.
Membership
Membership is paid annually covering the hire of courts and feather shuttles. As a guide, 2024-25 fee was £205 with discounted rates available for students, those over 60 and those in the same household. Members also need to join Badminton England (and pay County Fee where applicable) for which the senior rate was around £25 in 2024-25.

Did you know that you can join our club at any time of the year? We will charge you pro-rata for the remainder of the year. Our season starts again in September each year with fee details issued by August. If you join from the date of your first visit we will refund any visitor fee’s you have paid.
Most members pay annually in advance but you can arrange with the Treasurer to pay in stages providing that you are committing to a year’s membership. Fees are paid by bank transfer.
