Forest Badminton is pleased to announce John Molyneux as the new Head Coach for Juniors Club following Gill Fairhams’ retirement at the end of last season.

John has been coaching for over 40 years most recently as Head of Badminton at Wilson’s school in Surrey.  He has a wide coaching experience from running his own junior club, to coaching the Surrey U.17 squad and one to one coaching at County level for juniors and seniors.

As a player he has represented Surrey and Hampshire at senior level and England many times at Masters level.  In 2024 he won the National title at doubles in his age group as well as the All England.  Before that he and his partner have also won the European championships and a bronze medal in the World championships at over 55.

On his appointment John commented “I really enjoy working with junior players, with emphasis on enjoyment but with good technique and developing tactical awareness. Realising potential is important as is helping develop a good skill level and love of the game”.
